Might want to add that the higher costs result mostly from hand- versus machine picking. Plus the limited available land of the Kona coffee growing region. Climatic, soil conditions are ideal for arabica coffee and most pesticides and herbicides being used on coffee worldwide are simply not allowed in the USA. No child labor, no below minimum wage labor are happening. All that makes the Kona coffee exceptional, not only in taste but also for the consciousness.
Thank you for the valuable input! With all of those factors in mind, Kona coffee is definitely worth the higher price.
