How Does Coffee Affect Your Health?

Where do I even begin? Coffee has so many new developing health benefits that it is a shame not to drink it!

In a study done by the Harvard School of Public Health, coffee drinkers showed a reduced risk for gallbladder disease and gallstones. This was compared to those who drank decaffeinated coffee and did not see the same benefits. Coffee also does have the ability to reduce the risk for Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's. The studies were done on heavier coffee drinkers who consumed up to 3.5 cups per day, so this is wonderful news for Java junkies.

Coffee also has been proven to improve IQ and short-term recall. This means that if you want to function better at work on a daily basis and become an all-star employee or employer, then drink to your health with a cup of Joe!

How Does Coffee Protect Your Health?

This is a fantastic question that every coffee drinker needs to have answered because it is so wonderful to discover that your morning beverage is doing more than just waking you up to start the day! The list is as follows:

  • Coffee directly lowers the risk for liver cancer, and it slightly lessens the risk of colon cancer.
  • Coffee also has the capability to reduce the risk of type II diabetes, whether you are drinking decaf or regular. Your risk can be reduced by up to 50% because coffee contains chlorogenic acid, and this ingredient slows the intake of glucose into the intestines. This is especially important for anyone at risk of diabetes.
  • Coffee is going to protect your heart and slightly reduce the risk of stroke by up to 19% when you are drinking 2 to 3 cups per day.
  • Coffee also does shield the liver from cirrhosis damage, especially when it is triggered from alcoholism.
  • Coffee does prevent the onset of Parkinson's disease because of the caffeine content. It dramatically lowers the risk in men, and also in women who aren't taking post-menopausal hormone supplements.

Isn't this wonderful? The list of coffee and health benefits is getting longer and longer, making it even more enticing to drink to your health!
