Make Turkish Coffee in a Few Easy Steps

Turkish coffee is an exotic coffee brew, but it is much easier to make than you would anticipate!

Start out by freshly grinding coffee beans until they are almost as fine as a powder.
• Add these coffee grounds in a ratio of 1 teaspoon of coffee grounds to 1 cold cup of water to yield 1 cup of brewed coffee into your Turkish coffee pot. Add an extra half cup of water to compensate for water that may be boiled out during the brew process.
• Before brewing, add 1 teaspoon of sugar for every 2 teaspoons of fresh coffee grounds.
• Place your Turkish coffee pot over low heat, and allow the mixture to boil. After it has boiled, pour some of the mixture into a small Turkish coffee cup.
• Bring the remaining mixture to a boil so that the coffee begins to froth, and then add the froth to the Turkish coffee in the cup.

Simply delicious!

The Top 3 Most Popular Coffee Selections

Coffee is a delicious treat, but are you drinking the best of the best?

Espresso: Espresso is a truly popular coffee choice, and it is made with finely ground dark roasted espresso beans. These coffee grounds will be placed into the portafilter of an espresso machine, and water will be forced through to extract a delicious brew. The ideal espresso shot should brew within 25 seconds, and it should be topped with a rich and thick hazelnut colored crema.
Cappuccino: This is a wonderful coffee treat, and it is made with one third espresso and two thirds frothed milk. To froth your milk correctly, it is important to start out with cold milk in a cold metal pitcher. For the perfect foam, make sure to keep your steam wand below the surface of the milk to prevent bubbles.
Turkish Coffee: This is a wonderful coffee variety to try, and it is made with finely ground coffee beans that almost resemble a powder. This is a sweeter coffee brew since it will often come brewed with sugar already.

What To Avoid When Making Turkish Coffee

Making Turkish coffee may seem like a daunting task at first, but it happens to be incredibly easy when you know the right precautions to take.

Here are a few things to avoid when making your Turkish coffee:

  • First, focus on grinding your beans to a fine powdery form, even finer than you would for an espresso.
  • Next, do not bring your water to a boil because it could burn the coffee grounds and make them taste bitter.
  • Do not use a Turkish coffee pot that is too big. It should hold three small espresso cups of coffee total so that it has the capability to brew and produce a crema on top of your coffee.
  • Keep in mind that you need to use 1 teaspoon of coffee grounds to every small espresso cup of water, with a maximum of 2 teaspoons to the small espresso cup of water for a stronger coffee.
  • Add your sugar before you bring the coffee to a boil so that it can naturally dissolve and sweeten during the brew process.

See how easy this is? Turkish coffee is a fantastic way to enjoy a new spin on your favorite brew, and now you have the skills to execute it perfectly!

What's the Right Coffee Grinder For You?

Coffee grinder selection can be a totally confusing task, but it doesn't have to be. Where would you like to begin? For average coffee drinking for the normal home, many people have a blade coffee grinder, where their only complaint is that it may not grind consistently enough to give a good product. Nonetheless, this is a great and inexpensive choice that will still give you a fresh coffee taste, like the Krups Fast Touch Coffee Grinder.

The more professional option that is preferred by all coffee snobs is conical burr coffee grinders, which will be a little more pricey, but they can give you that very detailed type of powdery grind that is perfect for espresso or even a Turkish Coffee. Where else are you going to get that consistency? The benefit of conical burr grinders is the fact that they will work at lower RPMs to minimize heat so that your beans don't burn and have a better flavor. I recommend trying the La Pavoni Burr Grinder for a high quality and reasonable price. Regardless of your preference, know that freshly grinding your coffee beans is the way to go and will give you a premium cup of Joe like you've never had before!

How Do You Make Turkish Coffee?

This is a global coffee flavor that you must try, and it is surprisingly easy to make Turkish coffee! You will need a small Turkish coffee pot that has a handle that you can hold over your stove.

  • Begin by adding water to the Turkish coffee pot.
  • You will then add very finely ground coffee, even finer than an espresso grind.
  • Add these fresh grounds to your water, and heat over your stove on medium heat, stirring well until it comes to a boil.
  • Serve immediately in small Turkish coffee cups that hold about 2 ounces. The grounds will sink to the bottom of the cup.
  • After the grounds have sunk to the bottom of the cup, you can drink the delicious brew, but don't drink the coffee grounds sitting in the bottom!

The coffee grounds that remain in the bottom of your cup after drinking were often traditionally used to tell your fortune by flipping over your cup to see what pattern it makes. Either way, I can tell that a delicious cup of Turkish coffee is in your future!

How To Use a Moka Pot

If you have not yet stumbled across the fun brewing option of a Moka Pot, then I am about to rock your coffee loving world. The Moka Pot is a truly simple contraption that involves upper and lower chambers that are separated by a coffee filter basket. You will fill the lower chamber with water, and then attach the filter basket, which you will then fill with fine espresso grounds. You can place the Moka Pot directly on your stove over a low to medium heat, and you will hear it begin to bubble as the water is forced up through the grounds into the top chamber. You will know it is done when the bubbling sound begins to cease, and your top chamber is filled with your coffee product. Your final resulting brew will range from the taste of espresso to Turkish coffee, and all you have to do is sip your Java and enjoy. Mmm...

For an amazing La Pavoni Stradavari Espresso Machine, you can get that on my site today!
