Developing Your Coffee Palate is Easy!

If you feel intimidated by coffee cuppings or tastings, you no longer need to because you can learn how to develop your own coffee palate in a few easy steps.

Start out by purchasing two very different coffee roasts.
• Brew two different small cups of coffee on two separate French Presses. It is ideal to use a French Press to brew coffee because it will leave the essential oils of the coffee beans in the final brew product for a better flavor and taste.
• Taste the cups of coffee one at a time, and start out by focusing on the textures. Does one cup of coffee have a heavier feel? Does one have a smoother finish?
• Don't read the labels of the coffee beans because the description of the roaster may sway your opinion.
• Don't worry about the words that you use because there is no correct coffee terminology. It is up to you to decide what flavors that you taste in comparison to the other cup of Joe.

Congratulations, now you are a professional coffee connoisseur!

Are You Brewing The Best Cup of Joe?

There are a few things to consider when you are brewing quality coffee, so make sure that you are not making any detrimental mistakes that will affect your brew.

• Make sure that you are using cold filtered water because that will give you the freshest coffee taste possible when you brew.
• Do not freeze or refrigerate your coffee beans when you store them, but keep them in an airtight container in a cool place.
• Do not purchased pre-ground coffee, but make sure that you freshly grind your coffee beans before you brew them because that will give you the freshest flavor possible.
• Make sure that you are using a quality coffee maker, or more preferably, a French Press, because that will give you the most control over your brewing.
• If you are using paper filters, then use brown filters because they are more porous, so more essential oils will get through into your brew.

The Best Method For Cold Brewed Coffee

If you are someone who has a hard time stomaching the acidity in your cup of Joe, so to speak, then you may want to consider a Toddy Maker to cold brew your coffee with. A Toddy Maker is a coffee maker to cold brew your coffee in, which can produce up to 67% less acidity in the final brew product.

The only disadvantage to cold brewing coffee is that it will take some time, and you do need to store it in your refrigerator overnight. However, this is the preferred method for many people who have stomach issues and want a cup of Joe with less oil and acidity. The Toddy Maker provides a smoother and milder brew product, and you can have cold coffee on hand to create iced coffees at any time. You also have the option of adding hot water directly to the coffee concentrate to make a hot cup of Joe as well.

This is a fun alternate method to try in your coffee brewing, especially if you do have stomach issues with the acidity found in coffee. I am always up for a cup of Joe anytime, whether it be cold or hot!
