Espresso Granita Recipe

This is a delightful choice for a summer treat, and it is actually very easy to make if you have your own home espresso machine.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Espresso
  • 3 tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp. Cocoa powder
  • 1/6 cup Cold water
  • Whipped cream
Mix together the sugar and cocoa powder in a pan on the stove, and slowly add the cold water. Mix with a spoon until it is smooth, and bring the mixture to a boil until the sugar dissolves completely. Lower the temperature, and allow the mixture to simmer for two minutes. Remove the mixture from heat, and add the espresso slowly. Pour the entire mixture into a large dish, and allow it to cool. Cover, and freeze for an hour and a half. Scrape the mixture every half hour with a fork until it has the consistency of flaky crystals. Freeze again for two hours, and serve with whipped cream!
