Kahlúa Liqueur Coffee Recipe

I can think of nothing better than to combine the sweet Kahlúa liqueur taste with the rich and complex flavors of a great cup of coffee. The trick to this coffee drink is that you are using your ingredients to create the taste of Kahlúa without the use of the liqueur itself. Read on for an easy recipe that you can enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly ground coffee
  • 1 cup vodka
  • Glass jar with lid
  • 1 whole vanilla bean

Start by boiling 1 cup of water with your sugar for 5 to 10 minutes. Boil your second cup of water separately. Next, place your coffee grounds in your home coffee maker within a filter. Slowly pour the second cup of boiling water through the grounds. Add the freshly brewed coffee to your boiled sugar and water, and cool the mixture completely until room temperature. You can now add your vodka, and pour your mixture into a glass jar. Add your vanilla bean, and seal tightly. You will then age the mixture for one month in a cool location like your refrigerator before drinking. This recipe does take a little patience, but the results are so worth it!
